  • Share – copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt – remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose.

These rights are granted for all lawful uses, including commercial applications, subject to one condition: appropriate attribution. Users must:

3. Rights and Obligations

  • Author Rights & Self-Archiving: Authors are expressly permitted and encouraged to deposit the final published PDF in institutional repositories, subject-specific archives, personal websites, and academic collaboration networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu). Authors may reuse their own figures, tables, data, and text excerpts in subsequent publications, presentations, or educational materials without seeking further permission, provided the original JBMI publication is properly cited.

  • Third-Party Content: Authors bear sole responsibility for identifying and securing written permission from copyright holders for any third-party material (e.g., medical images, micrographs, adapted figures, lengthy quotations) included in their manuscript. Evidence of permission must be provided upon submission.

  • Publisher Archiving: JBMI reserves the right to permanently preserve all published content through trusted digital archiving services (e.g., CLOCKSS, Portico, PKP PN) to ensure its perpetual availability, even in the event the journal ceases publication.

4. Ethical Standards and Integrity
Authors warrant that their submission constitutes original work, contains no plagiarism, and does not infringe upon any existing copyright or intellectual property rights. JBMI follows the core practices and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) . Any allegation of copyright infringement, plagiarism, or other ethical misconduct will be investigated thoroughly in accordance with COPE guidelines.
